Detective Novak had finally solved a rash of apartment house burglaries that had been plaguing the area for months. “How were you able to crack this case Detective?” asked a reporter. “We have had a possible suspect for months, but he had always managed to elude us, leaving no obvious evidence behind. Him and me were waging a personal battle, but he was not as smart as me. I knew he will get careless. I was finally able to retrace his steps”, said the detective. “From his shoes. Both had clues on its toes.” The detective then proceeded to explain his strategy to the reporter. “As I was questioning the suspect, I noticed a small drop of pizza sauce on the tip of his left shoe. A pizza delivery boy had recall that as he was arriving to deliver a pizza on the evening of the burglary, he collided with a man rushing out of the apartment building.” “But how did you place the suspect inside the burglarized apartment”? “Our suspect uses a unique brand of foot power that is only sold in one local shop. The soul of his right shoe is separated at the toe, and some of his foot power dribbled on to the carpeting. I was able to remove a small amount of powder and match it to the residue in his shoe.” “I guess a good detective always has top think on his feet, “the reporter observed wryly.
