Find it + a Noun? + to infinitive

(1) I found it hard to believe. I know for sure the sentence (1) is correct. But I am not sure if the following sentence is correct.(2) I found it an absurd thing to believe.Can a Noun be followed by "found it"? Could you help me clarify it? Thanks.
