"find a cure" vs "find cure"

What's the difference between "find a cure" and "find cure"

what is the difference between these 2 statements : "Scientists make important step forward to find cure for cancer" vs "Scientists make AN important step forward to find A cure for cancer"
Also this headline below:
"City Of Hope Researchers May Have Found Key To Cure Cancer, End Obesity"
Why not : "found a key to cure cancer"?

2 . Is this correct: "Which is why I am hoping for science to find a cure for ageing during our life times." and which is more appropriate in the above "during our lifetimes" or "in our lifetimes" also "lifetime" or "lifetimes" and is "I am hoping for science " correct.

Thanks a bunch.
