Final Fantasy XI:
Dear the AUE,
The other day I was playing Final Fantasy XI, and something happened relating to English usage. My best bet was that it is the result of mistranslation, but I still wanted some opinions. So, I gave the world of Vana'diel a shout-out. I guess Riggs wasn't on that day because no one but me really seemed to care about the problem. Even though someone did confirm what I thought, they did not really seem to want to discuss their opinions. As the AUE's ambassador to Vana'diel, it is my duty to resolve this drama.
OK, so, without giving too much away, here's the deal...FFXI lets us check the enemies before we start fighting them. When checked, one of the following (in alphabetical order so as not to bias) is displayed about enemy X:
"X seems incredibly tough".
"X seems like a decent challenge".
"X seems like an even match".
"X seems like easy prey".
"X seems too weak to be worthwile".
"X seems tough".
"X seems very tough".
We get more points for fighting stronger enemies and less points for fighting weaker ones. However, I finally noticed, because of the numbers of points, that what IMO should* be the proper strength ranking of the above seven is not what it actually is. And, then, someone else supported my observation by explaining that what I had assumed that the order *had to have been was not the correct order. Like I said, no one gave opinions when I asked if this didn't seem horribly wrong.
So, before I reveal the correct order, I'd like to see some other people's initial assumptions. Rank the above seven from least to most points (weakest to strongest), according to your understanding of the above phrases. Is it possible to do it any differently? I definitely don't think so, even though the FFXI creators think otherwise.
