Filthy VS dirty

"What incompetent, unorganized, filthy, dirty creatures!"

Until I found the line, I thought filthy and dirty has the same meaning but the meaning might be a bit different because they are used in the same sentence at the same time. If so, what kind of difference does they have? Or it's just a redundancy to give a emphasis? Thanks in advance!
