Filming a video with a phone

Hello everybody

According to Longman dictionary, we film when we "use a camera to record a story or real events so that it can be shown in the cinema or on television".
But, can we use this verb when talking about recording short videos for example when recording a video with a phone?

Thank you

Those two, as well as the word record.
