This is the review of the movie name “ A Silent Voice ”. It is a Japanese animated drama film produced by Kyoto Animation in 2016 and directed by Naoko Yamada. The film is about elementary school student Shouya Ishida who sought to beat boredom in the cruelest ways. One day, a girl named Shoko Nishimiya transferred to Shouya's class. When he watched her unpack her bag and open a notebook, she wrote: "My name is Shoko Nishimiya, I can't hear it so if you guys want to talk to me, please write in this notebook" she said. Shouya was immediately surprised and he assumed that Shoko was the thing to make him less bored by brutally bullying her with his 2 friends, Kazuki and Hirose. The 3 of them started bullying Shoko along with 2 more people, Ueno and Kawai, of course, the 2 of them bullied Shoko just for fun. Shouya always uses a broom to deliberately hit Shoko’s leg every time it's her day, he also takes her bag and throws it into the school's fish pond, his 2 friends, Kazuki and Hirose stopped him but they didn't seem to care much about bullying Shoko and just said it out loud and laughed while saying stop. Ueno plays with Shoko’s feelings and Kawai laughs at her too. One afternoon when shoya was on duty, when he saw shouya rearranging his classmate's desk and chair, without a second thought, shoko came in to help him. shouya was angry because he thought someone like her could do anything and got into a fight with her. shoko was resisting when he took her 2 hearing aids and made her hands bleed. Her mother, Yaeko Nishimiya, found out my daughter was being bullied and notifies the school, Shouya and his friend was talked to by their homeroom teacher about bullying shoko, however they only admitted that they bullied shoko but all blamed shoya and told their teacher it was all shoya's fault. After the incident of bullying shoko, Shouya is singled out and blamed for everything done to her, he is left at the mercy of his classmates. He is heartlessly ostracized throughout elementary and middle school, while teachers turn a blind eye. Now in his third year of high school, Shouya is still plagued by his wrongdoings as a young boy. Sincerely regretting his past actions, he sets out on a journey of redemption: to meet Shouko once more and make amends. This movie is probably a Japanese animated movie I used to cry over and over again just because it was so good and touching, the graphics are great, and the kyoto animation does a great job of creating the uncomfortable, suffocating feeling that the main character has to endure, which is truly amazing. It also has to do with the current situation of school bullying in Japan. it tells us that bullying is bad and we really need to stop doing it also teaches us that everyone deserves a second chance to make amends for the bad things they did in the past, if they have truly repented and repented of the bad things they did in the past, they deserve a second chance.
