Fill in the gap-

Hi.

[Juvenile/mature]- [intricate/simple]-[superficial/deep]-[true-to-life/unrealistic]-[short-lived/long-running]-[appealing/disgusting]

Complete the following paragraph using the words given above.

Comic books are for all ages, whether the appealing and colorful superhero ones meant for kids, or more mature graphic novels. Comics are great for visual people who appreciate the deep artwork. The format is very intricate to me. I grew up reading comics and am still following some of the long-running ones, which means I get to see the characters develop over a period of time. I think comics are popular because they discuss issues that are true-to-life and relevant to us.

My answers are in bold. Are they correct and natural?

Top answer

I would protest graphic novels being described as having "deep" artwork. But "superficial" is rather derogatory. Neither adjective is very good.
