ease or skill?

Though answer is given "ease" in the book but I want to know how can ease be remarkable answer should be skill.

But if one choice is there then answer must be "skill"

I wouldn't say it must be 'skill', but your teacher probably expects that answer.

Only "ease" sounds right to me.

If the skill with which he works is remarkable, it sounds to me like the speaker is surprised he has the skill to do the work.
