Fill in the blank with suitable word

Hello,

I heard the noise first, the sound of (from/of/for/into) screeching tyres. A car, obviously, out of control was rushing straight towards ( to /towards/against/forward) me and my four yers old son as we stood on the footpath waiting (wait/waiting/waits/waited) to cross the street. There was no time to do anything (something/none/anything/nothing); it happened in a millisecond. The vision of that big car hit ( is hitting/hit/hitting/was hit) the footpath a meter or away (so/to away/for) from us will never erased from ( in/from/towards/within) my memory.

I don't know how close the car came to us, because I turrned away (inside/out/under/away) at the last moment.

I have to select the coorect word from the words given in the brackets. I have selected the word and undelined it.

Please check whether my choices are correct.

Thanks.

hanuman_2000Hello,

a metre or so [Y]

I am still not clear about the vision of that big car -----------(is hitting / hit / hitting / was hit). Which ones do you think are wrong and which do you think are possibly correct?

..will never _?_ erased from my memory. What word do you think should go in that blank?

Thanks.

Hello,

The vision of that big car hitting the footpath a metre or so from us will never be erased from our memory.

The "be" was already there, it was a typing mistakes from me.

Thanks.
