Grammar

Fill/ full up/ fill in

Can we say 'fill' instead of 'fill up'?
I filled/ filled up the bottle with water.

Are both acceptable?

And---

I filled in the triangle with colour. I guess, it's incorrect but just want to make sure.

If it's incorrect, which preposition should I use and when is 'fill in' used?

Please help!
