Hello everybody.

I'm reading 'Little Women' by Louisa May Alcott chapter 32.


with both arms spread over the sofa back, both long legs stretched out before him, Laurie exclaimed, with a sigh of satisfaction...'Now, this is filling at the price.’


Jo sometimes didn't allow any body to sit on the sofa beside her by putting a pillow there, but once She forgot to put the pillow and Laurie got the chance to sit on the sofa beside her and the above is explaining how he sat and ...

Jo herself calls it slang. It is no longer slang, and all I can think is that he borrowed a term form the stock market. An order for stock can be filled at price, meaning that you say what price you want to pay, and the broker does not buy it until he can get it at that price
