Fight... by menaces - Is this correct?

Hi

I have a sentence: "And they shall fight against thee”: By words and blows, by menaces and imprisonment.

Is the word 'menaces' appropriate here?

Please help.

Since you're using 'shall' and 'thee', it seems you're writing a historical novel, so yes, in that case 'menaces' is fine.

(It would probably be 'threats' in ordinary conversation.)
