Fight

Hello,

1. I want to fight a ghost.

2. I want to fight with a ghost.

Which one is the correct? I have seen both the cases. I am a bit confused.

Could anybody explain it to me?

Thanks.

Both are fine, Hanuman. Two ways to say the same thing.

Hello Sir, (Mr. Mister Micawber),

How are you, Sir?

I have one more problem. "Could" and "would" both are used for polite request.

Examples:

1. Would you mind waiting outside?
2. Would you shut the window, please?
3.Could you help me with these boxes?

Can I use any one in these sentences?

Is there any specific rule?

Thanks.

All 3 sentences are fine. In #2 an #3, 'would' and 'could' are interchangeable, but 'would you mind' is a fixed phrase, so it cannot be changed.
