Field or branch? This is the dilemma
Got another little doubt shuffling around in my mind: talking about a science, medicine as well as law,should I employ the term field or branch?
- which branch( field) of laws are you interested in?
I'd appreciate so much if you'd correct me anything you might think doesn't sound english( verbs tense,syntax )

Okay, you caught me:)
Truth is,actually....I just went to see what this LLM was about and i found a website which explains a lot of things and at some point they mentioned the fields of law,and that Made me wonder a lot because I would have employed branch rather than field!
By the way,how come I can't be more brief in my replies?!

that's why we would say "branch" in the literal italian translation....
anyway, your vocabulary is really complete, as an italian I know what that means, but lots of times simple words are the best choice.

In the U.S. I have found these pairs to go together most often, though they would be understood if they were interchanged:

branch of medicine
area of law
You could also use the word "specialization."

oh yes, I forgot to specify it, actually I know the rules of American English, so have no idea if in the UK it is the same.

You could say "field", "branch", or "area" with medicine.
I don't know about law. Probably just "branch" or "area"
