Few/not a lot

Which are correct:

1-Only a few articles of clothing will fit in that box.
2-Few articles of clothing will fit in that box.

3-Not a lot of clothes will fit in that box.
4-A lot of clothes will not fit in that box.

5-Not a great number of clothes will fit in that box,
6-A great number of clothes won't fit in that box.

The even-numbered ones seem wrong to me.
