few vs less

Do we say

"Less people will show up."

or

"Fewer people will show up."?

Please advise.

For anything that you can count (including people), use "fewer."

Fewer people (countable!) will show up.

Hi,

However, note that saying 'less' in a case like that is a very, very common native speaker error.
