Vocabulary

fellow / bloke / etc.: masculine or indefinite??

Hi,

I would like to know whether words such as "fellow" and "bloke" are masculine-specific or gender-indefinite in English and, if they are used to refer to males, what would be their feminine counterparts?

Thanks a lot! xinelo

  • xinelo Gender specific.
  • There are not really equivalent words for females - "girls" is about the only one I can think of.
