Fellow

When we use the adjective "fellow" as in "my fellow students/workers", do we refer to only masculine nouns or can we refer to feminine nouns too ?
This is confusing because the noun "fellow" refers only to males.

Hi, When fellow is used as an adjective, it can refer to both females and males. It is used to describe people who share the same situation or people who belong to the same group (or class). Regards
