I kept my book on the edge of the slope, please take care if it fell down, I am going outside.

Hi Gary First of all, you have created a nasty run-on sentence with all those commas. You need to repair that and also do some rewording. I would usually use 'the slope' to refer to the side of a hill or mountain.
