Feet/taking/screening

Hi

A certain lady bought a cine-camera. When she was at home she started to wonder.

She tried to recall the figures the kind young man in the shop had given her; so many
feet of film which ran for so many minutes. Did he mean in the taking or in the screening?

Does by "feet of film" she mean the length of the tape? For example, so many centimeters/feet of film rans for 20 minutes ...

I understand that "taking" means "recording" and "screening" means watching what has been recorded.

I'm wondering, though why she's thinking whether the shop assistant spoke about the length of the tape when recording or when screening. Is the length of the tape different when you record and different when you watch what you've recorded?

So probably she thinks that when she's recording, the tape goes faster and she'll be able to record less and when she's watching the recording it goes slower or the other way round?

I've just realized that she's talking about a cine-camera and not a video camera. And I think it's different.

I'm wondering now if this screening device is built-in in the cine-camera just like it is in video cameras. When you have a video camera you record something and a second later you can watch what you've recorded on a screen, is it the same with cine-cameras? Is the screening devic

I'm sorry. I don't know enough about those things to answer your questions.

I think I'll just stick to the nouns and the verbs!
