Feel sick/am sick

Dear all,

Kindly tell me which of the following sentences is correct.

1) I feel sick.

2) I am sick.

This is much less likely to mean "I feel nauseated" in the US than in the UK. It is more likely to mean "I have symptoms of some illness."
