Feel good/well

"I feel good/well."

What is correct? I have come across both versions.

"I feel miserable and annoyed." => This should be correct.

I thought after the verb feel, it is essential to use adjective (not adverb). So how come it is fine to say: "I feel well."?

Thanks in advance.

"I feel well."

So in this case, "well" functions in the same way as "good" as an adjective?
