Feed

Dear teacher,

I have come across a sentence below. Which contains "feed" that means "to give food to animal and a person" but I am confused when I read the sentence. Could you please make this understand ?


SUckling - #Young child or animal that is still feeding on its mother's milk.#

B. The verb "feed" means "drink" as follows:

"... is still feeding on its mother's milk" means "...is still drinking milk from its mother"

Here, it is the intransitive form of feed, which means to eat. And, in the case it is drink, of course.
