Hi there! I just have a question regarding the correction criteria for the FCE exam, so I can explain my students how it works.
In the following example,
??????????????????????????????????????????"Joan was in favour of visiting the museum."
which needs rephrasing using IDEA
"Joan thought it would be .... to the museum."
my student wrote: "Joan thought it would be a good idea to the museum."
She actually forgot the verb "to go". Unfortunately, she does this pretty often - omitting some of the words - even if they are very obvious; most of the time she even knows that they should be there.
So, my question is: when something is almost correct, but not completely correct, will the candidate get any points at all?
