Fax Over

They faxed over the document right away.
They faxed the document over right away.

1. Are both sentences above acceptable?
2. If so, which is more natural?
3. When you say 'over' (other side), does it mean current location of the speaker? As in the example above, does it mean that the document was received right at the location of the speaker at the moment of speaking? Or it can also mean that the document was received at another location on the other side, but not necessarily where the speaker is at the moment of speaking?
