FAVORITE vs FAVORITES

Can Favorite be plural or is it singular?

can you say

Those are my 2 favorite cookies.

Those are my two favorites.

Does Favorite only describe on thing, since it's normal to have ONE FAVORITE THING AND NOT SEVERAL.

Thanks

Sorry, Kamal, but the plural is very common. Google gives me 502,000,000 hits for "favorites".

Here are a just a few examples:

Internet Explorer 6 uses a feature called Favorites to put Web sites you visit often within easy reach.

The CD contains elegant, tasteful arrangements of 28 holiday favorites.

It would surely depend on whether 'favourite' was being used as a noun or an adjective? So a list of favourites - yes; favourites to win - yes; but if you were to have 'a favourite painting', you would not have another favourite painting it would make a nonsense of usage.

Very well; some examples from Oxford Dictionaries:

Food vendors sell local favorites such as teriyaki chicken or beef stew with rice and macaroni salad.
When you have mulled over these questions and picked your favourites, you give money when and how you see fit.
I'll try to pick my three absolute favorites tomorrow and link to all the other ones that were good

This post is nearly two years old, but the thread has come alive again, so I'll respond. If you had one favourite painting you could not logically have another favourite
