Favorite as adj

Here is a question about the usage about "favorite". It can be used as adj and noun and always comes with one's.

*When (one's favorite) as adj

These films are my favorite.
I don't know what is their favorite.

*As nouns:

These films are my favorite(s).
I don't know what their favorite(s) are.

I am wondering if my understand of using 'favorite' as adj is grammatically correct.
(There is no '-s' for 'favorite. Also I didn't reverse the N-clause after 'know' since 'what' is the subject)

So that is to say:

When "what are their favorites" is put into the sentence below, it should be like this:

I don't know (what their favorites are.)----"their favorites" as the subject in
wh-clause

But not "I don't know (what are their favorites)"

Is it right?
