Hello evrybody, I would like to ask you a question about the word favor. I know that I should say: Can u do me a favor or Can I ask u for a favor. But can i skip the for in the secon example? Thank you Bara

Many people do say "Can I ask you a favor?" in a colloquial context, but actually to be grammatically correct (or at least 'better', if not quite correct) they should say "Can I ask you for a favor?".
