Fast food

My topic: Fast- paced modern lifestyles have led to people eating more and more fast food at the expense of more traditional meals. Do the advantages of eating more fast food outweigh the disadvantages ?

My answer:

Nowadays, people tend to eat fast food more than traditional food due to the fast- paced way of living. There are both advantages and disadvantages of junk food. Personally I believe that the pros of eating more fast food suppress the cons.

On the one hand, with a fast pace of life, people are too snowed under with workload. They are likely not to have much time to cook the meals for themselves to carry to the office. What’s more, fast food is available in cities and it is suitable for those who have a sweet tooth. This is an ideal solution to save time. For instance, humans can easily look for a variety of options in a menu at every restaurant. In addition, fast food can be tasteful pizza or hotdog which keeps people absorbing more and more of it. Thus, fast food is more than convenient for the fast modern society.

On the other hand, the most significant issue is that fast food lacks nutrients. Fast food is made of ingredients of unknown origin. This could result in several health problems such as heart disease, cancer. Moreover, fast food accounts for high calories, which could be linked to obesity. If people eat too much fast food, people are addicted to this unhealthy food. That is harmful to people’ health. Therefore, junk food is short of vitamins and nutrients and is not a good option for choice.

In conclusion, fast food can be palatable and appreciated for the fast pace of life. However, convenience comes at a high cost of disease and a diet with a lack of nutrients. Hence, I strongly believe that the benefits of fast food do not exceed the drawbacks.
