Fast asleep/sleeping heavily

Kyle is sleeping inside the car. Toby knocks on the window.

Toby: Kyle! Kyle!

Toby keeps knocking, but Kyle is fast asleep/sleeping heavily. Toby gives up.


Are both 'fast asleep' and 'sleeping heavily' good choices here to say that he doesn't wake up?
