FAST and QUICK

Hey! After a long time, I'm back with another question:

When do I use fast and when do I use quick?

Like: "He is running fast". It seems I cannot use "He's running quickly" in this sentence. What is the rule for this matter?

Hi,

can I use "prompt" to replace "quick " and "fast" in this sentence?

"thank you for your prompt reply"

Thanks
