Vocabulary

fast

1. I know the word 'fast' can be an adjective or adverb, and the word 'quick' can be both, too. My question is what's the difference between these two? What's the difference in usage? BTW, quickly is an adverb. Is it the same as 'quick'? Does it use in a more formal writing?

2. Is " ain't " not a standard word to use? like we may not use it in writing?

Thanks.
