Farthest or furthest?

Should I use "furthest" or "farthest" in the sentence below?

Liverpool have won this season's Champions League, but which Italian team will go furthest/farthest in 2019/20?

Thank you.

I would use "farthest" if only because of "go far". The distinction between "farther" and "further" is a very blurry one. The best writers have use them pretty much indiscriminately over the years.
