farmland

What's the difference between farmland and cropland? Are they interchangeable?
Thanks.

I think it is the part of farmland that is used for growing crops, as opposed to land for grazing, etc. All cropland is farmland, but not all farmland is cropland.

I'm not familiar with 'cropland'.

In British English we use 'arable land' for land used to grow crops.
