Far wall?

Can you tell me what the far wall is in this sentence:

A computer sat on the desk lining the far wall.

Is it the wall at the back of the room? Or is it the opposite wall? Where is this wall??

Thanks

Hello! I'd say the wall furthest from the person who's speaking, so the back wall from her/his point of view.

Thanks, I always have problems with translating this far wall or back wall when the context is not clear.
