Far too big a problem??

"It was far too big a problem."

Is the word order correct? I have my doubts about the position of an indefinite article, but once I've seen it written this way.

Confusion with the subordinator of time "once".

Yes, I know the other meaning of the subordinator, but I am wondering at the fact it cannot be used this way when emphasizing "once". I stick to the rule that if I want to put emphasis on something, I will place it to the front of the sentence.
