Send trains to friends all over the world while building your very own thriving county! Back to top ^ How do I earn coins? Passengers pay fares when they board your trains. When a train arrives at your station, load your trains with passengers and send the trains to your friends! The better the train and longer the train route, the more coins you earn! You can earn coins quicker by upgrading trains. Purchase and upgrade buildings to produce better passengers that pay you higher fares to earn more coins! Back to top ^ What is XP needed for? Earn XP by sending passengers on your trains! Use your XP to level up! You will also unlock new gift items as you level up! Back to top ^ How do I invite friends to play Lucky Train? Each friend on your train becomes a stop on your train's route. There are three ways to get your friends playing Lucky Train: Create new train routes with friends. A new route and train will be instantly created for each invite that you send! You can add friends to existing train routes and they can join in the fun by accepting your request! Click on the "Invite Friends" tab at the top of the game window and an invitation will be sent through Facebook that encourages friends to play Lucky Train. There is also a "Click to Search" field near the bottom so you can locate a friend easily! Back to top ^ How do I add stops to, or extend, route(s)? Lengthen your routes by adding friends as stops. To add friends click on the train tile in the schedule, located at the bottom of the Lucky Train screen, and then click on the "Add a Stop" button in the Train Details panel. This option is available to anyone on the route. The longer the route, the more coins everyone earns! After clicking on the "Add a Stop" button, you can also post a general request to your wall. Friends who respond to your wall post will be added to the route! If a route has a pending invitation, you cannot add another friend until the pending invitation has been accepted. You can remove a pending route invitation if you are either the route owner or the person who originally sent the invitation. You cannot add friends to Sam's, Allison's, or the Baron's routes. Back to top ^ What is the Engineer Finder? The Engineer Finder adds a random Lucky Train player to your route. You will not need to send Facebook Requests to use engineer finder. NOTE: This feature is only for new users to help them get started with the game and get the ball rolling. It will not appear for current or advanced players. Back to top ^ What are Local Routes? Local Routes are train routes that only travel between your county, The Baron's county, Sam's county, and Allison's County. You do not need to send out Facebook game invitations to build Local Routes as it is a shorter route. However, passengers pay you fewer coins and experience points to travel on Local Routes. Back to top ^ What are Cross-Country Routes? Cross-Country routes are train routes that can extend to anyone on Facebook. You can invite a friend through Facebook to join a Cross-Country route. Once they accept your invitation, another player can be added as a stop. Cross-Country routes cannot include The Baron, Sam or Allison. Back to top ^ How does Posting to Your Wall work when adding a stop? You can choose the "Post to Your Wall" option to easily broadcast to your friends that you want them to be added to a route. Players who respond to the wall post will be automatically added. Back to top ^ What is a "Stops Bonus"? As you add stops to a route, distance is added to the route and its "Stops Bonus"" increases. Passengers pay you more coins to travel on longer routes with more stops. A "Stops Bonus" multiplies a passengers coin fare. For instance if you load a train with a 10 stop bonus, each passenger pays you 10 times their normal fare. Back to top ^ Where can I find some stats information on a train? Click on any train and on top of the picture of the owner of the train, you will see a gold star. Scroll your mouse over it to find stats on how many round trips the train has taken and how many total coins it has earned. Back to top ^ Why do I want to upgrade my train(s)? Train upgrades help you earn more coins by carrying more passengers and traveling faster. Train routes have a set distance based on the number of stops, or friends on a train route. Upgraded trains help you complete the route in less time and will return to your county more frequently. Longer trains allow you load more passengers and collect more fares on each roundtrip. Back to top ^ How do I upgrade my trains? To upgrade a train select one from the schedule along the bottom of the game window. Click the Upgrade button in the bottom right of the Train details panel. Select a train upgrade in the Train Upgrade screen. Upgrading your trains will help you complete routes quicker and earn more coins for each roundtrip! Back to top ^ I don't see any trains on the way to my county, what do I do? To send trains to your county you must create a new train route by clicking "Create Train Routes" (blue train icon). You can also ask a route owner to re-start an inactive route so that it will return to your county. Back to top ^ How do I Sell a train? Click on the Upgrade button to enter the train inventory display. Put your mouse over the train you would like to sell and the Sell button will appear on the bottom of the portrait. Click it to sell your train! Back to top ^ What do buildings do? Buildings generate passengers for your trains. The more valuable the building, Better buildings generation more valuable passengers. There are two ways to acquire valuable buildings: Purchase them from the Store by clicking on the Store button in the top right of the game. Once you have reached the store, click on a building that you wish to purchase. After you have purchased a building, you can upgrade it by sending a set number of passengers to the Train Depot. You can see your upgrade progress for each building by hovering your mouse over it. Once a building is ready, go into the store and an "Upgrade" button will appear beneath it. Click on it. Click once more on the "Confirm" button and you'll get an upgraded building! Back to top ^ How do I know if a building can generate a rare passenger? Some buildings have a chance of generating rare passengers that give bonus coins and/or xp! Click on the "Build" button and look for any building that has a star in the upper left corner of it. Scroll your mouse over the building to see the normal character it produces, and then scroll your mouse over the star to see what rare passenger it also can produce! You can choose to send all the passengers ready, or just one passenger at a time. Toggle the Single/Multiple Passenger Collect button on the top right corner of your screen to choose between the two options! Click on the world map icon next to the name of your county on the top center of the page. You will see the second county and after you purchase it, you will be able to enter it and decorate it. You can switch between either county whenever you like! Back to top ^ How do I take a screen shot? Click on the camera icon located on the upper right corner of the game to take a screen shot of your county. It will go through a Facebook approval process and then be added to your Facebook photo album. Back to top ^ What do the stars in the upper left corner of some store items mean? Trains and buildings with a star in the upper left corner indicate that those passengers have a chance to give bonus XP and coins on top of the regular amount. You can see what passengers and rare passengers a starred building will give by putting your mouse over it in the store. If you put your mouse over the star, it will show what rare passenger the building will give along with its stats. Back to top ^ What is Instant Fuel? Instant fuel brings any train that is not yet ready to the ready state. You can use this for your own routes or your neighbors! Back to top ^ What are Tasks? Click on the Engineer Checklist on the upper left hand side of your screen to see what Tasks you can complete for coins and items! Back to top ^ Where can I check out Achievements? You can see what achievements you've accomplished and what you can still do by clicking on the "Achievements" trophy button on the right side of your screen! We are always adding new achievements so check back periodically! Back to top ^ Why can't I add any more friends? Additional stops cannot be added to a route that already has a pending stop invitation. The pending invitation must be accepted or removed by the owner or inviter before adding another friend to the route. To remove a pending invitation, go to the train details and then click the "Remove last stop" button. You are also limited to creating 10 new train routes with friends. Back to top ^ Can I remove or rearrange stops on a route? Stops appear in the order that they are accepted and cannot be rearranged. Once a friend has accepted your invitation, he or she is permanently part of that line until they take themselves off of it. However, if a friend has not yet accepted your invitation, the owner of the route can remove him or her from the train route. You can remove friends from your route that have not accepted your invitation by selecting the train and then clicking the "Remove Last Stop" button. Back to top ^ Can my friends remove me from their train routes? Your friends cannot remove you from their routes that you are already on. Only you can take yourself off of their routes. You can do this by finding the route and clicking the "X" button next to your portrait. Back to top ^ What if I don't have enough passengers? If you do not have enough passengers to fill each train car you may still send the train, but you will not be rewarded with the highest possible number of coins. To send more passengers to your Depot, click on your buildings to send passengers on their way. Once a train has arrived to your station, the passengers on the platform will automatically board the train. Remember, passengers pay different fares so you want to purchase and upgrade to higher value buildings that produce higher paying passengers! Back to top ^ How does the Passenger Transfer work? Visit a friend's county and click on a building that has a waiting passenger at it to gain a bonus passenger for your own county! Don't worry, as it is a "bonus" passenger, your friend will still have the same passenger waiting for them as well! When your friend upgrades a train that you have already upgraded, the upgrade that you purchased will be added to your inventory. Once the upgrade is in your inventory, it can be re-used. Yes, you can lock personal routes so that others cannot upgrade it. Click on any of your own trains. Next to the image of the train on the right side of your menu, you will see a blue lock icon. Select 'Settings' and uncheck the box labeled "hardware acceleration". Click close and refresh your page. Back to top ^ How do I view my train schedule? When you load your game your train schedule appears in the bottom of the game window. Each tile in the schedule represents a train route that you are a part of. Once you reach the gift page, select an item that you would like to send to a friend by clicking the "Choose" button.
