fanny pack of jerky

I am from usa, i have a friend that lives in uk
Every yeasr he sends me cheese, in return i send him beef jerky from the us.
We have an alien museum here so i went a picked up a fanny pack from there and filled it with the jerky and sent it to him.
I sent him a text saying that a sent him a fanny pack of jerky and it should arrive in 10 days.
For some resaon that was extremly funny, and he wont tell me why. Any ideas?

Right, even though I guess many British people would be aware of the different US meaning, it can still be pretty startling to British viewers watching US TV shows when a character casually refers to someone's "*****".
