Is it even possible to say

I fancy myself a hotdog.
I fancy myself a haircut

Hi

You can say it, but you have to be careful if you omit prepositions in conversational Englsih:

- I fancy (for) myself a hotdog
[= that is what I would like]

- I fancy myself (as) a hotdog
[= that is what I would like to be - ?!]

That is why the sentence does not work - it is going to sound funny

You can use commas:
- I fancy, myself, a h
