"False" with reason for explanation

you have told false reason in explaining your absence

is this a natural sentence? what about use of false with reason.

I wouldn't consider "false reason" a common collocation. "False pretense(s)" is a common collocation.

Perhaps, "You have given a false explanation of your absense."
"The excuse you gave for your absense is/was false."
"'The reason you gave for your absense could not be substantiated."
