False Dichotomy

The other day I heard someone say that it is not good to 'think in false dichotomies'. This sounded wrong to me; I would say you can 'think in terms of false dichotomies' or even 'think of false dichotomies' but surely not 'think in false dichotomies'? Can anyone confirm this and provide a grammatical explanation? Many thanks, Nick.

Anonymous it is not good to 'think in false dichotomies' This sounds OK to me: it is a logical shortcut from 'in terms of', and we take logical shortcuts in language all the time.
