Do you agree with "A girl asked me on a dance". Shouldn't it be "a girl asked me FOR a dance" ?

"On" does strike me as wrong, yes. I assumed Madhulk was transcribing dialogue from some TV show or other, and that perhaps "on a dance" was something the young people are saying these days, the way they all seem to say "on accident" now (at least where I live).
