Fall into a bad situation

Hi

Does the red phrase sound natural to your ears? I recently saw it in article written by a Pakistani author. Any other suggestions please?

  1. Little did I know that I was going to fall into a (very) bad situation.
  2. From then on, things started to fall into a bad situation.

Thanks,

Tom
