Fall in love

I saw someone had written
"He is falling in love with a car"
It should be "he has fallen in love with a car"..Shouldn't it?

Grammatically both are correct.
I saw a car in a showroom and I took a test drive. I'll test its features then I'd say I am falling in love with this car.
And when I go home I said to my brother, I have fallen in love with this car.
