fairy tales vs The Great Gatsby
I am writing an essay on Fairy tales vs The Great Gatsby. I need help with my thesis statement. This is what i have so far: Although the death of Gatsby was tragic, it did signify that dreams are over powered by reality.

It doesn't set up the comparison to fairy tales at all. Is your essay actually comparing Gatsby to fairy tales, or asking whether it fits the fairy tale archtype? Tragedy isn't really part of the fairy tale archtype, is it?
