Fair on me

Hi

On this side of the pond, people very often use the phrase "not fair on me" -- I'm aware that it should be "fair to me", but still want to know how a native would  react to this use.

It's not fair on me.

[Odd? Wrong? OK?]

Thanks,

Tom

It strikes me as unusual, as a wrong note in the music.

Go easy on him. They're too hard on him. ...

It seems to me that the speaker has made an analogy with expressions like these where none is warranted.

Thanks, Clive and CJ!!

Isn't it interesting that two native speakers [English teachers] react so differently to such a small phrase? Clive's reply relaxed me; yours gave me food for thought.
