Faded/lost youth

It's no use truing to remember one's lost youth.

HI,
Is "lost youth" in the above equal to "faded youth?" Thanks.

Top answer

Probably not. With 'lost' it usually means that through some mischance, youth was not experienced, as with a young child who must go to work to support his/her family. 'Faded' means that the person no longer looks youthful.
