Fade In's Hollywood Pitch Fest or the Screenwriting Expo: Which is the more useful?

Fade In's Hollywood Pitch Fest, and the Screenwriting Expo are going to

be held within a few weeks of one another soon, and I can afford to go to only one (I'd be coming from New York). The former costs about $300

to attend, and the latter about $75. Which of these is the more useful

to a newbie trying to make connections on the west coast? Comments from anyone who has gone to one or both would be greatly appreciated.

02: Neither one is any good. Of course, when I say "neither" I mean all of them. These gang-bang pitchfests are only good for getting experience at pitching.

  • com / That being said, I'd take the Screenwriting Expo one, only because you said you want to make connections on the Left Coast, and a few regulars here usually have a boink around the time of the Expo.
  • And some of THOSE connections can be very valuable.

Since nobody else has fielded this one, and you raise a legitimate question, I'll throw in my .02:

Here's a link to a blog (not mine) about pitchfests:
