facing someone doing sth or facing someone do sth?

Which one is correct?
Facing my grandma crying.....
Facing my grandma cry....

The sentence is the following:
Facing my grandma crying at the funeral, I knew it was time to be an independent and strong lady, not a girl anymore.

Please help identify the errors. Thank you.
